Cork is harvested from the cork oak tree, but no trees are felled. Instead, the bark is stripped away, releasing oxygen into the air, which reduces carbon dioxide in the environment. In fact, 14 million tonnes of CO₂ are absorbed by the cork forests every single year, making cork the perfect eco-friendly render and insulation!
That's good for the planet. The tree's bark grows back, so it's a sustainable resource. This raw material goes to make Thermocork.
Thermal cork insulation done right
We approached Rameco as we have an old property with a rendered gable-end wall that desperately needed some TLC. The render had cracked and in places was hollow - this had resulted in water ingress that had started to show on the interior wall in places
From the very first phone contact with Rameco the service has been exemplary. Liz explained there was a natural cork product that may be suitable and within a couple of days Rob came out to complete a survey and confirmed the options. I felt reassured by the advice I was given and it was clear there was proper planning to complete the work. The two members of the team who came to complete the work identified patches that needed repairing before the cork coating was applied. They worked extremely hard and with the utmost level of professionalism. We now have a beautiful protective surface on the wall that has removed all the previous blemishes.
